Our peacock is sick, I think it's something wrong with the crop? Like with chickens ...

Hello peacock friends, help please.
I have a peacock hen. She is 9 months old and is growing up with chickens.
She is the only one that was hatched by one of our chickens.
For 1-2 day she hasn't wanted to eat or drink anything...she looks tired and likes to sit with her eyes closed. Her poop is watery because we give her water with a syringe but no food. I also do crop massages... but I can't feel that the crop is swollen.
She normally eats meal worms and black soldier larvae dried but softened in water. Bread, rice, corn... leaves...

Sorry to be so late to answer as I suspect she has cocci and has by now probably passed. It is a terrible protozoan that kills young peafowl quickly by the time they show symptoms.

Hey, thanks for the answer. No, it's not too late. She's holding on, just water but she's still alive.The poop is more yellow and white and when it dries it's like powder? It also looks like something is stabbing her throat, she tries to vomit sometimes, in the mouth is saliva. But I can't see. Do you have any advice for us? What is cocci? Can I cure with Toltrazuril (Baycox) or Sulfadimethoxine?

Welcome to BYC and sorry your hen is sick. Do you have Toltrazuril (Baycox) or Sulfadimethoxine? Can you get Baytril & metronidazole? Do you know how to tube feed or give subcutaneous fluids?

Coccidiosis. Yes, if that's what is wrong with her.

I'm sorry I don't know about the crop issues but if you have Toltrazuril I would advise giving it to her asap because even if that's not the only issue, getting rid of any coccidia will be a priority. Have you tried treating her for an obstruction? Would you have access to a vet?

Make sure her tongue is in her mouth. I once had a hen swallow a feed sack string which was wrapped around her tongue and pulled it down her throat. She couldn't eat or drink, unfortunately the string had cut though most of the tongue and the tongue was lost.

I don't want to answer everyone myself but give you all an update;
After 6 days of fighting, we see that she wants to live! We decided to go to the vet. We were there yesterday..... But there is good news and bad news.
This is good; No inflammation in the throat or crop.Nothing swollen or blocked. X-rays show everything OK.... nothing inside. A pipe also goes down into the crop without any problem?
This is bad: She is only a little warm and we still don't know what the problem is! Why she can't eat or drink. (I don't want to say she doesn't want to) Because she always tries to look for food and tries to eat. But something is stopping her from using her beak. Even when she wants to clean herself. Using her beak is a problem.

Summary: She has been given vitamins and we have put her on antibiotics, one tablet twice a day. I dissolve them in a little water and use a syringe to inject them, with a syringe I can pass the air hole and can make sure she does not choke on the introduced medicine. She gets water with Stress-guard every +- 30-40 minutes (one teaspoon).

The vet wasn't a bird specialist, but yes he did. No, She not missing the target, She just nudging it, if She touch it at all.
