Our Texas-sized coop

Here is our new coop. The chickens have been in their new digs for about 4 weeks now.
Let me know what you think.
Also, I am curious as to what I should end up using once all of the grass is gone? Mulch, gravel, leave as dirt floor???

Wow -- now that is fantastic!!! I love the idea of the crepe myrtle inside, too, for a little more shade & color.

I would just leave it dirt inside. I think you set aside a corner for a dirt bath area, didn't you? Still, chickens don't always understand our human plans. My girls dig up little dirt holes for their dirt baths all over the place -- especially in a place where there's some shade. So you may as well leave the dirt and let them dig where they want.

Great job on the coop! I am so jealous!

What an amazing coop! I hope someday to have enough property to build something like that, great job!! I was wondering- do your chickens just roost on the nest box roost bars? Or do you have a separate roost for them elsewhere?

Awesome and yes, I am jealous... Only thing I would have done differently is
1. make the actual coop larger.
2. make it so you can gather eggs without going into the coop.
