Out of the turner and can't get humidity up!

Is there any condensation? I can't imagine after adding all of that you are still at the same reading.... is your hydrometer working correctly?

They say Maxi pads work great too!

I had that happen to me once and not long ago but my common sense told me there had to be enough humidity in there with both trays filled plus a wet sponge. Just relax as you have done everything right. Hoping for a great hatch for you.

I'm using an Accurite thermometer/hygrometer and can only assume it is accurate. When I opened the bator to take the eggs out of the turner, it dropped to 41% and has climbed up to 57% over the past few hours. Just doesn't seem to be climbing as fast as the temp did, which has now been holding steady at 101. Should I worry that the humidity will (hopefully) climb slowly up to where it needs to be? Or does it have to be 65% NOW?

I used a sock soaked in warm water. Stuck it in the bator and the humidity went right up. Just kind of roll an athletic sock up into a ball, and soak it with warm water. I've seen posts where some people say they use a feminine napkin soaked in warm water also. Sounds like it would work. I haven't tried that yet, but the sock works pretty well. Good luck!

That sounds like a good idea!! I just checked and we're at 58% now. I can't take it anymore so I think I will go to bed and check it again in the morning. Seems to be climbing slowly and if it is still the same in the morning, I'll try the sock or pad. Of course I'll be up 5 times during the night to check...

This is nerve wracking!!!!
