Outside brooder coop.. .

The breeding coops are 4' x 5' , 6' tall at front and 5.5' at back and some are 4' x4' , 6' front and 5.5' back. The runs are 5' x 5' and some are 4' x 5' , 6 ft tall

I like open air coops

I have built two more off of the left side of the one pictured below.

im curious, have you raised any new chicks in it during the colder/winter months? I'm also building an outdoor coop, still waiting for my chicks :)

Yes I have raised them in there all winter through down pours and cold temps (we don't get snow

). The biggest problem I have is with the outside transfer period of Orientals. I first leave the door open with the light still on so they can go back in there to get warm but I still have Oriental chicks get sick during that period. I have never had a big problem with layer breeds.
