KC from TSC didn't make it (not surprised, they got a shipment of 60 ducklings, 30 were DOA), but the Rouen seems fine. Just got a tracking number from Ideal, now the pins and needles begin again

How many did you lose so far of the KC? I am so sorry that is very sad they lost that many. When are your ducklings to arrive?

I lost the 5 from Ideal (well, they were DOA, so I never really had them), bought 6 KC from RK, lost one, bought one KC from TSC and lost him this morning. Both of the ones that died from the stores were tiny, so I'm thinking FTT? I did the NutriDrench on both, though. Currently have 5 KC, 2 goslings, and 2 Rouen doing well.

Whew I thought you meant you lost all your KCs from RK. Sorry you lost any though poor little ones.

Sure hope your new babies rom Ideal arrive safe and sound and on time.

Think the geese got jealous I took a pic of the ducks because they ran out of the cave, so I had to take two pics. Trialing the wire bottom today since I am home all day. If it causes issues I’ll cover it with something. The bed area is much much drier, thankfully.

My little boy goes out every five minutes and picks some weeds for them

That one little Rouen looks so tiny. You got your new brooder built? Can we have a pic of the whole thing? That’s sweet I bet you boy loves those babies!

It’s not professional by any stretch LOL. All staples are outside so inquiring beaks can’t pull them, and I put another layer of wood over the wire on the bottom so they can’t get to any wire edges. I’ll make a top for it when the geese figure out how to get on the cave. For now the poop is mostly falling through to the towels below and I have thick plastic under the towels. It’s 4’ x 4’. I put extra wood in two spots to help stop some of the wire sag, but did not staple it there, and a put extra cross supports under where I put the water. I’m not counting my new babies until they arrive safely so I have zero brooder plans for them right now. I’ll use the tub to start out (I bought a second heating pad and have more shelves to make caves)

And a picture of Stripe and his new friend. I went in to see if maybe they had any that looked like WH, but all they had were KC and mallards and the one Rouen (I hope, he was the only one with a double strip)

And please ignore the piles of books. They're my chore this week since I have a break from school!
