You were completely within your rights to refuse that delivery and cancel your order. Delivery people do have to work around people's schedules, and I know that cancellations, postponements, and reschedules happen, BUT when you request a specific date ahead of time, then reschedule that delivery TO ACCOMMODATE THEM, they for darn sure should be there at the set time, on the right date, ready to deliver your items and remove the old (if included/agreed upon in the contract or sale). Do take the time to make sure the manager and/or head of the delivery/installation people know exactly why you canceled your order.

was it the right bed frame they showed up with if so I wouldnt have cared it showed up early (Im very impatient), didnt you say they were going to set it up? Me personally I would have cancelled my order on the phone when he was being a arse, I refuse to give business to companies with bad service expecially since Im not rude or unreasonable to them.

I'm not even sure if it was the right frame, the guy wouldn't check it for me, he simply said "as far as I know, it's the right one". And, believe me, I would have let them set it up, but we weren't ready for it and it couldn't get set up. My old beds have to be removed which they would have done, BUT our son's crib has to be torn down and moved to the next room, which they wouldn't have done, and would have taken at least half an hour, plus we would have had to pick up the room a bit, and I wanted to vacuum and shampoo the carpet in our bedroom. I would have skipped vacuuming and shampooing and just waited to do it later after the bed was in, but there was no getting around the crib and picking up the room. I wasn't expecting a delivery until Wednesday, so I hadn't really rushed around, I figured I had at least a few days to recover (I caught an icky bug, fever, cough, stuffy nose and having a hard time simply breathing), then clean up and get ready for the bed. Believe me, I WANT this bed, hubby and I have been sleeping on a broken down twin mattress/boxspring that is on the floor, we NEED this bed.

Now I'm being made out to be some massively huge biotch because the beds couldn't be set up and I wasn't willing to let them sit on the porch for a few days until I could get someone else to help my husband set it up, so I told them to take it back, and, ONLY gave him attitude AFTER he continuously gave me attitude, and, believe me, with the way I was feeling, I wanted to do more than call him an arsehole and tell him to pack the "sh*t" up and leave, I wanted to knock his teeth down his throat. I was even as polite as possible to the poor assistant, apologizing and thanking him for his time, yet I'm an unreasonable biotch who needs anger management... *Sigh* Oh well, I shouldn't let what other people think get to me, especially over something as stupid as this. I'm a paying customer and if I don't get what I paid for, then tough cookies, I'm not paying, plain and simple. Thank goodness the business itself has ethics, and that you can cancel credit card charges.

Never accept bad attitudes from anyone that you are doing business with. COMPLAIN. Many times store or company owners aren't aware of how their employees are acting. I would fire anyone working for me that was disrespectful to anyone.
You are completely right to expect common curtesy and proper service. Accept nothing less.

Cancel the entire order. Get your money back and show them you mean business. Find somewhere else to buy the bed.

Well, apparantly the manager to that store is a friend of my sister's boyfriend. The only thing is, despite the guy being a total jerk, and me wanting to kick his teeth down his throat, I don't want him to get *fired*, I just want him to act like a reasonable human being. I had one person fired before after months of sexual harassment, and although I know that something has to be done in these types of situations, I feel guilty because people need to eat and pay their bills. I'm probably going to cancel and simply say that the guy was rude, and not go into detail about exactly how awful this guy was.
