i bought 2 adult silkies and one of them has a bit of a overgrown beak, that curves over the bottom part. When i throw treats on the ground for them she tries to peck, but the first couple tries she misses the ground by about 2 inches, then after a couple pecks she picks up the food. she has no problem eating out of the feeder or drinking only eating of the ground. could this be from her beak or just because all the big puffy feathers on her head gets in her view. if the beak is to long should i trim it or fill it or is that a job for the vet?

I have a Serama with a long beak too. He does just fine eating/drinkin. I do keep an extra eye on him though.
