What do you use as a calcium supplement for your birds? How often do you feed it to them? What kind of feed do you use?

Feel free to talk about anything calcium related!

I keep a few bowls full of oyster shells. Top off as necessary. I also feed back a lot of eggs, so they get all the eggshells they want.

Feed is a pelleted All Flock. Goes to everyone, chickens, ducks, turkeys. I add a starter when I add my chicks to the flock. It becomes a popular item for a few months until I phase it out when chicks can eat the pellets.

I also feed whole corn, cracked corn and boss as scratch daily.

Mine is always out. I would add some after 4 months if I didn't already have some.

20% flock raiser.....oyster shell(sometimes mixed with crushed egg shell) in separate containers is always available to layers, topped off as necessary, I don't track how often as it varies.

I feed free choice oyster shell and have it in a bowl all day everyday and refill as needed. I fee purina all flock feed(don't want male to be eating to much calcium. Works well for me and girls usually don't have thin shelled eggs.

They still need grit, just not chick sized.
I have two hanging containers, one for the OS and one for granite grit. I will be installing a third for crushed egg shells. They are favored over OS.
