paint inside of coop?

I have been wondering about this too. I am in the process of finishing up our coop and was thinking a light color would be good for the winter light situation. The only concern I have is if the chickens start picking at it? It can't be healthy right? Maybe I am being too cautious?

If paint is not peeling, it's not likely they will pick at it.
Light paint inside coop will make it easier for everyone to see,
doubt it will extend winter laying as they need direct white light for that.
ETA, tho light paint inside may increase the efficacy of supplemental lighting.

Out of the 25+ coops and tractors i built, never had an issue with that.

today's paint does not have lead in it.
I wouldn't give it to them to drink, but the little they would pick at it , if they even do,
shouldn't hurt them.
keep anything made of styrofoam away from them,, I don't know what it is, but they just love to pick at it.
I washed a Hovabator incubator and leaned it against the house to dry. the chickens devoured half of the bottom in a couple of hours..
if you put up styrofoam sheets on the inside walls of the coop, cover it immediately with plywood..

Anyone have pix of their inside of coop painted!?....it didn't even dawn on me to paint the inside....man is my husband's eyes gonna roll out of his head when he see me headed to the coop with paint bucket
