Here is one of mine 16 x 24 acrylic on stretched canvas, I did this awhile back
and hubby wont let me sell it, so I had an order and the person wanted a
    smaller version , 11 x 14, I big deal, ok....UGH WHAT A
NIGHTMARE. ive done it 3 times and just cant get things right at that small
size, even tried in pastel, figured it turned out ok and RIPPED A HOLE IN THE
MIDDLE while removing from the backboard. so, back to the easel lol

Goldenseal that is a lovely painting, I understand why hubby wants to keep it! I've done a few decent paintings in acrylic but overall I find it most difficult to work with and tend to stick with oils. What size is the painting? The one I'm doing for my DH is 3'x 4', the largest I've worked on so far. Seems like I'll never get it done!

thanks for your kind words, that one is 16x24, its a nice size to work.
I bounce back and forth between oil and acrylic, people get tired of
waiting so long for the oil to dry so it can be sealed.

there are lots of mediums that you can add to acrylic to make it
feel more "oil like" that helps. I learned with oil, so it is weird
    to switch.

I've been trying to teach myself to pain in acrylics because they seemed easiest. I have a bunch of little tubes of watercolor and oils that came with the beginners kit that I bought, any tips for playing with the water colors??? I'm a little intimidated as I've never painted before and lack any sort of mentor, lol.

    Love the paintings! Beautiful work!
I haven't been able to do much since I have small children and I really miss it! I am hoping to get outside this summer and work on some. I do oils and pastels.
This is an oil I did from a photo I took at the Royal Lipizzan Horse Show:
And this was a pastel I copied from a poster (with some changes of my own) of one
of my favorite baseball players, Brady Anderson of the Baltimore Orioles:

    Some of my paintings.

goldenseal, love the amish lady painting. Have you thought about prints instead of trying to repaint it?
