Looking for some help or direction on what this could be. I noticed the comb on my 5 year old hen, Jessica, looks pale with scabs around the eye. It looks puffy compared to the other eye.

Thank you for your response! She stopped laying in June of this year, and she just barely finished molting. I did notice her comb was a little pale when she was molting so, I didn't think much of it. But looking at her today, I noticed what looked like a scab just above the eye. Other than that, she's acting normal; eating, drinking, foraging as normal, and normal droppings. BYC doesn't work well on my phone but I'm going to try and get a better picture uploaded.Paleness can be from hormones dropping, that happens in the winter months when daylight hours decrease and can be more noticable the older they get. It can also happen during molt. I can't see the scab(s) clearly, so wondering if she may have been pecked. Has she molted or is she molting yet this year? Do you know when she last laid? I would keep an eye on her for any other symptoms that might show up, make sure she's eating and drinking well, get a look at droppings to make sure they are normal, check that crop is functioning normally. Watch for any signs of respiratory disease, coughing, sneezing, wheezing, discharge from, eyes, nares, beak, bubbles in eyes, as that can sometimes also be a cause for swelling in the face or around eyes.
