I awoke this morning to a ruckus of shrilly chicks and the sounds of scattering in the plastic bins. My first thought was that my son or husband didn't secure the door and the cats got into them. So I ran into the dining room and that is when I saw Paper Towel Football! The black Ameraucana was the quarterback and ran confidently across the bin, criss crossing, a zig zagging and a-jumping to avoid giving up the paper towel! Oh no, he fumbled! The Lavender Orpington quickly snatched the paper towel and continued running toward the opposite side with ten chicks closely behind. I laughed myself silly.
The game continued for several minutes until they tuckered out and snuggled up against each other under the heat lamp. Whew, what an exciting way to begin the morning. Ya' just gotta love them chicks!
