Meet Rio. I don't know if I will keep that name or not.

He (or she) is extremely friendly. I had him step up to get him out of the carrier and he was fine with that. He has immediately found his food dish and is being a weirdo with it and getting all the way inside it, so I'm going to have to order a smaller crock, lol.

He also is playing with the little loofa rings toy next to the dish. He doesn't seem very upset about the move.

Nope, I take it back, now he's on my shoulder because he was begging me to take him out of the cage.
yay! another tiel! shes? gorgeous!

Back from Luna's follow up appointment! She got a clean bill of health :)
good. I'm so happy.

Yes, she really is pretty! I do hope she's a girl and keeps the pearling. I wouldn't mind terribly if she turns out to be a boy, though, because for the longest time, I wanted a male whiteface cockatiel.

If the tame bird is under 4 about 6 months of age, it usually goes the other way and they copy the older birds and become wild so they should be kept apart until that age at least to cement the bond with people. Now, if the tame bird is already adult, and past the juvenile molt, they don't usually forget their trusting nature and can help tame other budgies.

I put up two nest boxes on my budgie flock cage today. I have one bonded pair I really want some chicks from, both are recessive pieds so she is white with black and blue spots and he is yellow with green and black spots. They will have some gorgeous babies if they mate. My second female isn't bonded to any male, but it's better she have a box if she wants one anyway so she doesn't disrupt the other pair.
