Okay, beginning to worry a bit about these two.

This is Shirley my EE. She was named for Shirley Muldowny the racer since she looks like a speedy girl.

Is Shirley starting to develope saddle feathers? So far she looks like a pullet, but EE's always fool me. I almost positive that Chris is a handsome cockeral.

Thanks everyone. My guess was that Shirley was a pullet after looking at everybody's EE pics. I had noticed irrridescent feathers on Chris and began to be afraid that "she" was a roo. She is so gorgeous. I do hope my next batch is all girls! It is so hard to love these babies and then have them be roos.

I may keep Chris though. He doesn't crow and is very mild and is smaller than all my girls.

One of my EE's started getting longer saddle feathers than the others, and in a couple more weeks, longer hackle feathers and a bright red comb. The undeniable crow came next! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Right now, except for the questionable saddle feathers, it looks like a girl.

Is Chris a bantam cochin? He's so small and compact compared to my cochin cockerel. Very cute!

Chris is a bantam partridge cochin and I am so sad because "she' is just so beautiful but he has always been hard to catch and a bit of a lone ranger. This is just killing me because I just went through this with my BLRW.

Have you googled what a bantam cochin roo looks like at that age? Chris is so much more compact than my male and is shaped more like my female, but like I said, I have the standard ones so...

I hope everyone is wrong, and it turns out Chris is a girl.
