Hi there, welcome to BYC! :frow

Looks like just Partridge to me. Any green you are seeing is a result of the black feathers.

A copy of the standard in case it helps...
APA Silkie Standard

ETA: I figure the question is between partridge or blue partridge. But had the same basic thought as the next poster.

I heard them referred to as buff partridge grey partridge so I refer to him as black partridge the green tint in his tail make a colorful boy
Okay.. I will start by saying that too many folks call blue... grey... because that's what it look like, lol.

That being said... I am here in the hopes to learn something,,, and today is no exception... or disappointment! :thumbsup

He has a copper tone, so I believe he'd be a Red Partridge.
Hmm, something I'm VERY curious about as I recently started working with Bielefelder and those were called cuckoo red partridge by one source... and called the "same as cream legbar", can't remember if it was the same source... I know some breeds call the same color something different.. ie: cuckoo/barred, black copper/red brown, lavender/self blue, light brown/partridge.

So anyways I'm always checking this link as a starter source, it appears to be updating all the time...

It doesn't even currently offer blue partridge or red partridge as an option. But it does offer yellow partridge and multiple laced partridge and standard partridge... which yes, I believe he is black based (actually I am clueless in the face of possible red)... but just referred to partridge.

Turns out there's silver partridge, and multiple laced partridge on offer.

With regards to Silkies... that link I gave, had all the colors allowed by SOP at the time... I know they've since added paint, so maybe others as well. Gray in Silkies is not actually blue in color... but more penciled or something like that.. a more rare color. This link is pretty good, I think (I bookmarked it though not working with Silkies anymore)...

I used to breed Silkies... but not this variety... it's amazing what one can learn about the breed and variety they're working on.. by helping others find out things! That last link indicates that "gray" in Silkies is Silver partridge... instead of gold... Must find out more about red! :pop

Handsome fella... love to see the dark combs. Who says they can't free range with a little snow on the ground! :love

I'm currently working with bantam wheaten in Ameraucana. I thought "wheaties" should have the reddish triangle at the end of their wings. The Marans was the description I found to use an example, but should still be fairly relevant.

This photo from google shows the wing triangle I'm describing..

Please note that I'm not saying your sisters' isn't wheaten, I have culled many a bird for not enough color there. Huh... as I'm typing this and was JUST getting ready to ask is the bird actually crowing (doesn't appear so),or is that a genetic term I'm not familiar with.. of course noting your inclusion of the symbols.. (not sure if there's a term, maybe sequence?).. and it dawned on me... crow wing... would probably explain the black wings I talking about! I had HEARD the term crow wing before but not yet made a connection. (must learn more)

Now to go even further... your saying it can both partridge AND wheaten PLUS crow wing?! :th

Thanks for sharing. :pop
