Not really - he could have silver leakage. Not good for a Black pen - but you can use him in a Gray (Silver Partridge) pen if you have some girls. The Partridge pattern is based on a combination of a lot of things - and the base can hide under other bases. Almost all the other colors will hide Partridge, and a lot of them already do. Partridge to be truly correct also needs the pattern gene, autosomnal red and other genes not found in most other colors. If those are lost then its not really Partridge any more - its an in-between color that may be called Partridge but isn't correct. Those can be used in a Partridge breeding pen, but I have seen them called Calico, Partridge, Flame, Golden, etc.. etc...I was just wanting to know the possible colors you could get. I'm not going to breed them with each other because like you said it would be a mixed up mess for the next generations. I'll ether use the hen just for eggs to eat or get a partridge rooster for her. the black rooster I don't know what colors he carries but on his neck he has some silver feathers does that mean he carries the partridge color.
If you aren't breeding them to show them there is no reason not to play with the colors, just as long as you tell the people you sell the birds/chicks/eggs to that they are a mixed color. Some people only want pets and they really don't care. Some people love Silkies no matter what color they are. I think a lot of people have already been mixing up the colors of most of the birds, just like your girl from the White/Splash breeding. The Splash had to have been carrying Partridge and the White as well, plus the pattern gene. The Blue kids from that mixing can also carry White and Partridge.
I guess I just think when we have a good Partridge bird we mess them up if we don't use them to make better Partridges
