Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

Me too - its my VERY FAVORITE!   Although Buff is growing on me too.... especially the Smutty Buff I am getting by breeding to Partridge - they are so vibrant!

What do the smutty buff ones look like? I'd love to see a pic. My black pullet is finally laying, so I'll set some of her eggs next time and see what that color combo brings.

Quote: Well, they are like Buff, only a much richer color (thanks to autosomnal red from the Partridge). They have black in their wings and tails too.

They were just heading into bed but I got a couple of pictures out the window. The rest of them my stupid camera focused on my screen instead of the chickens.. grrr....

Peggy and DonnaDon - I was so hoping he would be a girl - NOT! Lucy was a much darker red (hence the name) but she didn't show any smut so I sold her.

If you look on Peggy's tail you can see the Smut.

Here are some earlier pictures of Desi - he is much prettier now with a bright red head and a gold neck and saddle feathers.

This is Lucy next to Peggy - you can see how much darker Lucy is.

And this is Donna-Don when he was younger.

All dried off and fluffy

Ooh! I love the color! :love

I lost my silkie partridge rooster a few nights ago to some kind of predator. Am just sick about it.

So, I'm looking for another one or some good quality hatching eggs.

If you, or anyone you know, has a partridge silkie rooster for sale, of good quality, please send me a pm.

Mine came from Steve Wheat. I hatched him out from hatching eggs and he was just beautiful. I'm just sick about it.

Hello and Welcome to the Partridge Silkie thread. If we knew where you were maybe we could find somebody closer to you with an extra boy. I am in Northern California.
