Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

If you breed it to blue, black, or splash, you will end up with all blue or black chicks, carrying partridge. Pretty sure white in silkies is dominant too, so you'd get white chicks from that. I *think* gray might be eb based (like partridge), so that might be your best bet, but I could be wrong. You could also breed it to a lavender and start a porcelain project. The procelains are like a pastel version of partridge, very beautiful.

Basically, if you have a choice of any color, you should pick whatever color you want the offspring to have, knowing full-well that they are then color "mutts" and shouldn't be sold to people looking to breed. If you want to sell the chicks, buy a partridge rooster and sell partridge chicks... Just depends on what your goals are!
White in silkies is recessive, you never know what you will get from them, I had one who was hiding silver partridge aka grey I have read that there are two different types of grey though, silver partridge roo with gold partridge hens would produce silver partridge girls and golden (both silver and gold) boys.

That last picture has a girl (perhaps?) that looks like the hen I was told was partridge!!!! That was april of this year.

I thought she was possibyl crossed with a buff. She has the pencilling though... Does this mean she is partridge?

I mught ask if you were in Georgia as I am, lol. Live your chickies.
She looks like a Red, like my girl Pumpkin.

Ahh, okay! Thank you for explaining it to me! They're still incredibly cute.. I'm just a little sad that the "breeder" lied to me to get me to buy another one ): I still love them both! Frizzle or not they're sweet chicks!

I'd been running all over this site without my little head trying to get answers because figuring out their coloring is killing me! :lau So the silkie thread said that they might be partridges and here I am! What do you guys think? The first two pictures are of Alaska. These two are of Aspen. Here they are together. The local breeder had a few hens in her pens but said she most likely believes this was the mom: they have to be either sizzles or frizzles most likely sizzles because there father's feather s weren't curly This was their papa, definitely. What do you think they are? Are they light partridges (White-partridge? Is that a thing?) Also, their feathers aren't straight, they're curly.. can they be sizzles?! :idunno

I was told by the breeder when I bought this pullet/cockerel as a chick that is was a Partridge. Is it a Partridge? What sex do you think? Thanks!!!!
