Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

Here is another pic.

Fur and Feathers, Very pretty! How old and what sex?

Thank you! She is five months old. I have four partridges - two really dark ones like she is (she has a dark blue petticoat the other has a black petticoat), a regular brown/gold one and one with light blue petticoat. My avatar is this ones baby picture. My two dark ones I hatched from CatDance eggs.

Looks like yours is built just like her, though I would only guess male but only from the red coloring.

I hatched out a couple of partridges from some eggs I bought and one came out white. Now, I know that this can happen if parents have recessive white in them. My question is this white bird had a greyish tinge showing partridge markings. And now that she is older the partridge markings do not show but her tail and her crest is a grey color and the rest of her is white. How does this happen and what is she?
I was thinking she is white and has silver instead of gold and that is showing up? Please have mercy on my suggestion. I was just thinking. LOL

Can you show us a picture? I am picturing a light gray from your description which sounds gorgeous.

Oh sure! I went out and took some pics to show you. Here they are!

Sorry, she is kind of dirty with shavings on her. It is hard to tell in some picture but there is very clearly a grey tinge to her and definitely to her tail. She has white in her too. What could have caused this? Specially since she had partridge markings when she was a baby. I wanted to work with her just don't know what to put her with.

Hey there! I am new and in Maryland. I would like to have a couple silkie hens in my backyard as soon as i build a coup and convince the hubby that having chikens isn't a messy and noisy hobby.

That is really pretty. I think I remember reading that there is a silver, but I can't remember which silkie thread I was reading it in. I don't have a good knowledge of genetics or color, but if you can get Sonoran to check her out she can tell you. I think I remember seeing a "Pearl" silkie, in the "Silkies of a Different Color" thread. Perhaps post her picture in that thread and maybe someone can help you.
