Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

Yes, I think these are repeats though. Maybe I posted them in another thread. You saw her at the show Alexandra.

Here she is right after her bath wrapped in a towel the day before the show and then at the show. You can see how pure white her chest and belly are - she got reserve to her darker sister.

Dian that color Sonoran called it was silver quail. Here is the quote:

Wow! So cool! Just when you think that you've learned all the colors...

Here is a little pair of cuties in their awkward stage. I am very pleased with the little pullet's posture for as young as she is.

Very nice posture - are they both girls? Cute puffin tails too.
Is there anyway to begin to guess sex on a partridge? This one is 4 weeks today.

Sorry.... I have one that is 9 weeks and I am still guessing on the sex- I Hope mine is a girl.. but I don't know yet.

Give it another 6 weeks then you can hope too... If it stays the all over even color then I would guess girl. If it gets darker/lighter areas (except for the head - that's a moorcap and not a sex determiner) or gets ANY red on the wings or back - then I would guess boy. Right now.. too young to guess.

Cute as a button though... LOVE Partridges!

They look nice. If you find a background I can play with my paint.com program and see if I can get them on a nicer background - something with lots of grass and bugs for them to play in.

Lol- So far, all I've found , they would look like giants in the grass. I'll keep looking! Or maybe a matte colored background, too make it look like a painting.

Ha. I just asked you that on the other thread lol. I was concerned about the size of comb. That one also likes to bite me. But I have been and feeding a lot, so it may just be searching for goodies. :)

One of my biters turned out to be a girl. The other one turned out to be a boy. I think its just their attitude...

I didn't really notice the size of the comb.... The other person on here who said you could comb sex said it stopped working after a couple of weeks when both combs broadened out - and the girly one wasn't different from the boy one any more. Right now its "wait and see"....

Good to know. I have a lot of little, what I call "bubble combs", little round tops of their combs. I have different personalities too in the brooder. Some put themselves in my hand for petting, some run away no matter how much I have handled them. Silkies are a real pain for sexing! They are so cute though, I don't care. I just want them to have good homes.

Here are pics of my 6 month olds- Rocky and Pebbles (no Bam Bam- it didn't "stick'). The pic of the pair of them is kinda funky looking because it was taken in a dark building (rained today). It looks like it would be like a painting, if I had a background.

Wish I was talented like that.

Ok, here's my playing with your posted pictures:

That program is really fun to play with!
