Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

Pics
I'll do all I can to renew your Orps, my friend. I even got out the Hovabator, which I swore I would not do, but this is a special circumstance. Amazing how the big old BBS Orps survived when smaller birds did not.

So sorry about Pamela.

I'm not really sure. My best guess would be a blue partridge, but there doesn't appear to be any penciling on the wings and there is way to much fluff for me to tell from the angle. Could also be a red. I just don't know. Maybe someone on here will have a better idea. Sorry I couldn't be much help.

How old is she? At least I think she's a she.

I am so sorry that none of us has gotten back to you. I really try to answer everyone as quickly as possible. We have had some of our dear friends lose many of their chickens to this nasty heat that we have been having, but that is not an excuse to be rude to you. For that I am sorry.

I really like the color. She is going to change color a bunch of times before she grows up and I think she will turn out to be a beautiful bird. I can't really tell too much else about her because of the way that you are holding her. Her foot feathering should get better. They tend to grow out more as they get older. I do see a problem with 1 or more pink toes and the actual feathering on the toes themselves could be better. Other than that I think that you have a nice little partridge Silkie. Congratulations! Take care of all of your birds in the heat that we all seem to be having!!! Make sure that you give them electrolytes in their water. Giving them pieces of frozen fruit and maybe some good cold yogurt or even ice cream will help. Take good care of them and don't let them out in the sun. If you have them in a barn it would be best to turn a fan on.
Have fun with your birds!!!

I wanted to add there is one treat you can give them that is very beneficial...cold watermelon. They love it, it is mostly water ai helps then keep hydrated. Just put it in the fridge overnight and cut it in half or quarters, rind on and dole it out.
