Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

Almost looks like my pullet Topsy at about a week old. I just posted a few pics of her at that age.

I think it will eventually look like your Topsy rather than become a true partridge. (Shucks, I was beginning to look forward to the pretty partridge coloring.) Even the breeder was a little surprised when I showed her the brownish chick that hatched out of a B/B/S breeding pen. She thought it might turn more grey eventually. Thanks for sharing Topsy's baby pictures.

Topsy looks black until you get up close to her and then you can see the brown mixed in. She's got very beautiful coloring - I think she hatched from an egg marked "Black Lav split" if that helps.

Okay I posted this in my newbie intro and only got one vote on the poll here is one of my new silkies is this a blue partridge or silver partridge?

this is what it looks like next to the white one

and is this one doesn't have any black stripes on its back... so does this mean it's actually a red? Sorry. I'm new at this. Literally we got them Saturday for my sin for easter. Well, we went to get him ONE but then of course he needed a buddy and then that buddy ended up not being a silkie which resulted in bringing home these two :)

The top one kind of looks like my grey chick(1st photo below) but its hard to tell what they will look like until they are fully feathered. I don't have a picture of it when it was older, but its sister is the second photo.

I had this chick hatch from a black pair, it's the first chick I got from this pair. Does it mean my black pair is split with something or maybe my hen was with another rooster before I got her maybe? And what color of partridge do you think it could be?

I think its a grey but you never can really tell until they are fully feathered. I have a black pair that gives me greys, so far all the chipmunk ones have have been greys, some of the blue looking chicks with the white around the eyes have ended up being grey or partridge and the ones that started out black have been either fully black or black with grey in the hackles. lol They keep me guessing
