What the heck does 'to geocache' mean?

People hide containers of varying sizes with stuff in them and you have to hike and/or otherwise get outside and find them using the coordinates then people sign the log and leave stuff in them for other people to find or take or whatever. It can be really fun! Some are dumb though and a lot of people do park and grab ones now where you barely move but when my friends and I used to do them we would do the ones in the woods where you actually have to hike and search.
