Total dependence of the government so reminds me of growing up in East Germany. I can only hope that this country is not heading this way.

I agree with the OPs point.
We can all find things our tax dollars are spent on that we disagree with. That said, collectively our tax dollars do things that benefit us all.
I could work my whole life and not be able to afford to build 1 mile of interstate hiway. But, thanks to taxes, I can drive a very nice hiway from sea to shining sea.

Really. I don't grasp how anyone could believe that taxing the rich EVEN MORE is a good idea, when that money would invariably go to job creation and economic in some form or another.
