This lady of mine, didn't lay an egg for me for the entire year, & is now molting. I don't know how a hen can skip a year of laying, but she managed it.View attachment 3944255

Yes, she does. It's short too. I wanted to hatch from her this year.

Praline likes to molt to get out of laying all the time. IDK

The Cinnamon hen, the one who lays once a month was egg bound with a shell-less egg yesterday. She was able to pass the egg after one dose of calcium Citrate.
She's gonna surprise me with a second egg this morning, & I hope she doesn't need help again.

Bruh, how does one even get egg bound with a shell less egg? It seems like when it happened to my birds they didn't even know it was coming (pops out of them suddenly on the roost, for example.)

I think it has to do with them being squishy, which makes it harder to push out, rather an egg with a shell.
She was actually gonna lay it the day before yesterday, but it never got pushed out. She was all kinds of uncomfortable yesterday until she was given help to pass the egg.
