If anyone's curious about why I counted the tail feathers, is that I'm following the Indian Standard for the Parrot Beak Aseels. 40 - 50 tail feathers are considered high quality, more so if long tailed, & not flimsy tail feathers.

I want wooly or cold hardy feathering for the modern PBA.
PBA, plumage is like that of the Malay, tight, but thick. So, I think they'd do fine in the winter too.

When you say woolly, I think Silkie.

Tight isn't the best in the winter, although they may do good. By wooly yes, I do mean Silkie.
So, far tight feathering's been fine in the winter. Just don't want almost no down, that's where it's going to be more challenging for the birds to survive winter.

Silkied PBAs would look interesting.

Yes I want cold hardy, and can appreciate the ornamental quality of the Asil now. I probably have a vulgar vision compared to whatever SOP exists.
It's fine. Often times I prefer funky, over SOP.
