Yeah but if genetics didn't directly cause it, they might have made him more susceptible. That's the way I see it.
It could've been the incubation. Temperature was everywhere during the whole process. He was my runt.
 
I put my last Shrimp Tailed Malay hen in with the Malays about a week ago, to help restore the trait when I start hatching again.
 
He's got white speckles, like mottling.

He's got excellent body structure, face, & tail need improvements though.
 
Had to put down my pretty blue/gray Malay hen since she was doing poorly. She had the worse case of intestinal cancer I have ever seen in a chicken in awhile. Liver was normal other then being slightly fatty. This was pretty sudden.
