Also at what age would you say is safe to put them in with my 2.5 year old white pair?

When my pair were two I put their eggs under a chicken hen. Only one hatched, and since I didn't want a lonely chick I left it in with the hen for the summer. Last fall when it started getting cold, I put the chicken and the baby pea in with the adult peas and they didn't seem to care. They all spent the winter together, then this past spring I worked the chicken back into the flock.

If pen is a good size, you can try now, but watch them ,most will be ok , but depends on your pair, even the peahen may attack them, good thing breeding season has come to a end, lot less fighting.
