Hi Lil Zoo,MMMaddie13 you have another week how are your eggs looking, how many are you hoping for?
helped my last chick hatch today .
never int pipped or nuthing i waited 2 days on him to hatch or die.
but neither happened and with it being such a fighter i couldnt let it die slowly.
so i went in.
very very weak chick. but it was worth it if she makes it . it is a pied. hoping this little guy still has fight in him. i wish i had stepped in sooner.
(out of IB parents. so a total suprise)
This is your first hatch to isn't it? Got my fingers crossed, for you. I only got one I named UNO the one and only, but I'm really enjoying it. I know we shouldn't spoil them, but Uno can be my puppy bird. I put a mirror, beanie baby and marbles in the tote. Uno is really a happy bird. Rarely cry chirps, he sing peeps. Doesn't like the red heat bulb, likes the cool blue. Didn't care much when I cleaned the tote and put in a different towel for a bit, but I rolled marble around for a while she accepted it. Sure wish a person knew the sex, he she it is hard.Hi Lil Zoo,
Tomorrow is day 21 so I'm going to candle then, I've got 12 eggs of the 20 still in the bator, but I'm assuming I have a couple quitters - the 8 I took out were all clear.
Sorry about yours, but I wouldn't risk keeping that stinky egg in there.. If it explodes it'll coat the inside of your bator and I wouldn't think it'd be easy to clean...![]()
Yea I candled this morning. Decided it just didn't look at all ready to hatch. I took it to the ditch, I was sure the smell wouldn't be good in foam. It was gone. Not developed right. Looked more like an incased circle with an eye, no feathers. It actually did have a red vein isn't that odd. I guess mother nature does unusual tricks sometimes. Oh well I got UNO. With more experience I might of had 3 but was to timid to get in there. The first 8 I picked up at hatchery all started, but electricity went off second night. The last 6 were thru e-bay, eggs looked good but air sac moved or was irregular on all but one. We'll get better as we go hopefully with the help of othersHi Lil Zoo,

You're going to so spoil that one baby aren't you?Yea I candled this morning. Decided it just didn't look at all ready to hatch. I took it to the ditch, I was sure the smell wouldn't be good in foam. Using your motto, reduce, reuse and recycle here kuntrygirl. Bet the original buyers would of never guessed their old trailer would end up a birdhouse.I LOVE IT !!!!!!!![]()
Hang in their were all rooting, it's almost time. If it was a darn old butchering chicken it wouldn't matter. These things are so fragile and 28 days seems forever. Look how fast FBC learned. I read thru MinxFox thread when she started. That really helps to know others have struggled too.I'm not feeling confident about my pea eggs in the incubator. Too many temperature problems. 1 day is 100 and another day is 98. It seems like I am adjusting temps every other day.![]()
