im a first timer. wild peahen in my back yard had a clutch of 7, then one day a big ruckus led to a nest of one. mama called frantically for daddy, and she abandoned this egg. after many hours of waiting for her return, i risked it and incubated the single egg. weeks later, i hear peeping, but only a pip was made in a day. after a successful rescue hatch determined necessary, this lil "guy" has imprinted on me! had to make tape shoes to straighten toes, teach it to walk on feet, not hocks, how to eat/drink. tried to raise with new, purchased chicks...he cries for me non stop. we call him PIP bcz thats all he did.
curious as to gender, dont care either way?
ideas on raising a singleton peafowl welcomed. contemplating buying more eggs to give it a family, but hes got a 2 mos head start?
ideas on feeding, other than the bagged food?
new here, but lived on this site, researching how to save this egg. ya'll helped me save this friendly, snuggly, fun loving chick!
