Yay more babies!!!!
Chicks from a High % Spaulding Dark Pied, (no white on him) and either a White hen or a IBBS hen that carries White gene of some kind.
From High % Spaulding split Peach and now split BS over White, IBBS hens.
My eggs got in today and they are looking good! I'll be candling tonight to check the air cells and things, and then I'll be setting them tomorrow.
Last weeks hatch.
Bronze WE split BS from this weeks hatch.
And some damn guineas too.
They're getting so big...! Little crown tufts starting to show...
So many beautiful babies! I just adore them! Looking through your photos makes me realize I am not the only one loving this hatching season.
My first batch of hatched peas are out in the barn in a brooder without lights now. Growing so fast. I need to get a current photo of them.
My second batch is still in the house in a cage.
And my third batch is coming along well. I am adding 2 more Opal WE to this batch now.
These next 2 photos are them.....
Still plenty of eggs to hatch but I do have one peacock, my Cameo dropping his train so my peas are a bit early and confused this year. And too, I had one pair that has yet to give me a fertile egg this year, though in years past they have been fine.
or a rainbow.....
or all one color
