Hi, I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to get my peacocks to make their noise? They are 8 months old and just making these little noises?

Lol, usually people write in asking for it to stop :-D
First, birds are still babies as peafowl go. By three, your male(s) should be making all the noise you want.
Second, the boys are the noisy ones, so if you have girls, there won't be loud mating calls from them.
Can you post photos of your little ones?

well Garden peas thanks for the info< and we want them to start making as much noise as possible! are Neighbors have a VERY noisy dog and they think its funny that it barks and wakes us up in the middle of the night. So we bought these for enjoyment and to annoy the heck out of the neighbor (more for enjoyment)

If you play a recording of peacock calls, they may respond...if not, the neighbors will think its your peas calling, anyways.

Make sure you crank up the volume!

Well in approximately a year to two years, assuming you acquired some males, you may get your wish. It will take more than one male (unless he is really desperate).

Meanwhile, you could get some guinea fowl and geese, which mature much quicker, and you can get adult roosters in need of rehoming free on Craig's list.

Donkeys are audible nearly as far as peafowl (sometimes farther), and also quite dependable in the noise department.

My father always thought it was a nifty idea to play John Philip Sousa recordings at 5 or 6 am, as loudly as possible, directly followed by vigorous lawn mowing as soon as it was light enough to see the grass. I don't think there was much of a muffler on the lawn mower. He also had large (dumptruck) loads of downed trees, which gave him lots of opportunities to run his not-very muffled chainsaw in the driveway.

Just a few thoughts in passing. I'm sure other folks here could give you some ideas... Apparently Zaz has a really impressive collection of bottle rockets. KKB shoots coyotes at breakfast time...

I think the concealed loudspeaker idea is a stroke of genius! As long as you have the birds in the back yard law enforcement would treat any call like a barking dog. They absolutely HATE barking dog complaint even more than the false home alarm calls that waste a good part of their time. Those birds could call all year around.

Put a fake window air conditioner, shell only, on their side of your house and whenever you want to give them a little toot, just open the window and give them a blast. Maybe a programmable bullhorn on a timer, that way you can be seen outside when it goes off. Got a basement window escape? Could hide a speaker in there and cover it so it could not be seen from above, and put a baffle above the window to bounce the sound in the right direction. Better yet, get a radio transmitted speaker and hide it under the bushes beneath their bedroom window. What noise?
