Peafowl Aviary

I have my breeder trios in 10 x 20 and 10x25 foot pens they fit comfortably in.

I use scare crow sprinklers around my pens mostly at night. Anything breaks the beam they get a shot of water at them. I also have electric fencing around the pen area as well. This really gets rid of predators cause if the water don't work, well a wet coon on an electric fence gives one hell of a howl LOL! I was going to run electric fencing at the top of the pen just in case but so far never had to. I have 2 inch netting on top. Never seen a squirrel go into the pen, just sparrows. The hawks can see the black netting and never flew into it yet, they land in the trees and look at the delicious birds under the netting and then fly away. I also have 5 dogs that run the 3 acres of fenced land as well, they keep the coyotes out. My goats rub up against the chicken wire and break it leaving large holes in it and stretching it out big time so I placed a few scarecrow sprinklers to keep them out as well and so far everything is working like it should be

Scare crow sprinklers? Something you've made or can be bought? Anything breaks the beam? Part of a scare crow sprinkler system? LOL, sorry I've not seen such a thing but sound like another good safeguard.

I have used them. They have a motion detector on them and when they detect movement the sprinkler is activated for a preset amount of time. About $60 on amazon.

This is a scare crow sprinkler system:

I found them on Amazon. Am thinking about it but the way my pens are arranged I'd need a few. Also my 3 feral cats that are really starting to chum up to me would have them going off all night, LOL!!! The peafowl rule the roost all day but when they retire to the trees the area is the cats playground. I so enjoy being out there watching the interaction between peafowl, cats and 4 buck deer that come in morning and late afternoon. There was a fawn born on the front of our 5 acres that showed up with mom to eat yesterday before dark. Wish I could include my 2 Miniature Australian Shepherds but am afraid they'd be a bit to much the life of the party, hahaha!!! I trained them to not bother the peafowl and they don't but it's hit and miss regarding chasing the deer and they'd love to take off after the cats. Bear and Chase lay at the gate watching all that's going on. Thanks for info on the scarecrow system.
