Peafowl for 2013

My girls have started laying again. I am now up to a WHOPPING 2 eggs!

I got three, three days in row so was hoping that both hens finally laying, now three days with no eggs. Go figure!!

I am finally up to 6 pea eggs. I am collecting them this time instead of leaving them in the pea pen.

Lockdown is Sunday for the other 4 pea eggs. I hope at least one hatches.

ZAZ is sad i tossed a good egg thinking it was bad and it was a white

but i have 8 in lockdown.

Yesterday I found my peahen Ice on a nest. I think she is on 5 eggs. My boyfriend's imprinted peachick, Taco, is doing well.

Thanks I hope that Ice will be safe! She is nesting in the same corner she always nests in so I guess they can have favorite nesting spots.

I'm a little neurotic about collecting the eggs this year and so far it's paid off and I've only lost two from the hen that lays from the perch. An added bonus to watching them is knowing what hen each egg came from.
