How old were the eggs?

Some were 5 weeks old, the two that started were a few days old.

Pea Palace has still been producing eggs although somewhat slower than 2 weeks ago. Got 9 eggs last night,15 eggs on Sunday nite,12 on Sat eve.Hatched out 3 new little "Thangettes" yesterday.Suprisingly they all have white flights and look like pieds at this stage. But only one more group of Thangs eggs before he decided to go on early leave of breeding.I was moving Roadtrip from pen to pen every 2 days but decided to put my black shoulder w/e ib male in with Thangs 3 ib carrying white hens.

Okay,,,,I'll try and see if my home pc will take pics off the camera card and get some on here. How about a 7 chick lineup, and then you guess who's who? These chicks won't be duplicated next year as I think these 3 IB hens carrying white will be in with my IB B/S male that is getting white eyes in his train.Since Thang likes to stop breeding 1 1/2 months before all other males he may just get penned with some first year laying hens (not much excitement for him) Pea Palace west side will need to be constructed before next spring now to accomidate more breeding trios, ect.

I just set 17 eggs under some broodies, but like the last batch of 16, of which only one is viable, many of the 17 are old, so I doubt that I'll get many.

Just curious Kathy, how old were those last eggs in the batch of 16 and how old are these? Been wanting to ask folks how old were the oldest eggs they've ever incubated and still have them hatch allright ?
Getting ready to put some in my bator that are 2 weeks old but have been keeping them nice and cool for the 2 weeks also, hope that will help carry them over for the 14 days

Would love to hear how everyone has done with the " age test " .

Set 7-7, laid between 5-30 and 7-5, but they were not kept cool enough and we had a few very warm days. My current set of 17 were laid between 6-24 and 6-19, so we'll see if any of those are good in a few days.
