Peafowl for 2013

Mine have been wormed also and when I went to put drops on them the wee peas did their protest squeak and squatted like a hens when I went to pick each of them up.. funniest thing I have seen yet from the wee peas.. except for miss winey she gets real squeaky when she want something to eat acts like a spoilt 2 year old kid all needy and such.

Does anyone dust their peas with Sevin ? I can dust all of mine but the adults. It would stress them out too bad. I got my boys when they were 6 months old and kinda left them alone and the same for the girls. So I haven't handled my 2 breeding pair much, so touching is off limits? :/

Zazouse are you using one of the cattle topical/pour on dewormers? Cidectin or ivermectin? How much are you putting on your peas? I've read a wide range of dosing.

Using pour on Iver-on for cattle, I put 1 cc at the base of the neck and 1 cc tail area of the adult peas and 1/2 cc in those areas for the wee peas.

I didn't see any bird mites this time, but had 1 wee pee and several adult birds with them last time I did them all so they got seven dusted also.

Yesterday I had one of two hatch. It went 28 days, was malpositioned with it's foot over it's head and it was shrink-wrapped, so it could not pip internally. The other one wasn't so lucky, it was also malpositioned with it's foot over it's head and died before it could absorb it's yolk, but it was not shrink wrapped.

One egg left... It's due the 20th. FWIW, it was the last egg laid on the ground and it was fertile, but a lot can happen in ten days, right? lol

Thanks, but it's okay and it gave me a chance to get some good pictures of one that was malpositioned and not shrink-wrapped. Of course I'll post them later, lol.
