Any way have been investigating and have found a recipe on another forum that looks fun, so gonna try it on my girls. Thought i would share my experiments with making one with you guys!

Here's the link to the forum:

Anyone else here tried doing this? Anyone want to join me and try?

We got something like it on a sunday market, was ment for wild birds in the winter so had lard and suet as a binding they loved it. Will give it a try using ingredients in the link

I've been wondering what to use to bind the ingredients together.... thank you for the link..... will definitely try this later!

I've got a recipe that uses plain gelatin as a binder. Seems like it would be better than other binders as it is just protein and not a lot of fat. I'll see if I can figure out where I put a link to that recipe....I've been buying the large seed blocks at Lowe's that are held together with gelatin, made with millet, sunflower seed, etc...and the chickens just love it, keeps them busy all day watching the holder spin around.

Here's the original thread, recipe is at the very end.

I bought the gelatin, and a bunch of grains, just haven't made it yet!
