I just bought a pearl guinea and was wondering if there was any way to tell if it is male or female. It is the size of a small chicken already.
You probably have to wait until it gets a little older. If it has a two syllable 'buck-wheat' call it will be a girl. Later you can go by the waddles sometimes. It might be too young for the buck wheat.
Females have a smaller crown and wattles and make a two note sound at times (Sounds like buck-wheat buck-wheat) Males NEVER make a two note call and have much larger wattles and a somewhat larger crown. Hard to sex accuratly until they are around four or five months old.
I listened to it and Im pretty sure its a female. The guy I bought it from said it was a girl but I wasnt sure.
