Pearl Star Leghorns

this is my little one when she was a baby chick. Love her…my absolute favorite.

If their description of the breeding background is true then they are not Leghorns at all. But I suspect they don't actually know the exact breeding because they have white earlobes. Which couldn't be inherited from Rocks or Sussex.

There have to be other breeds in their background besides Rock and Sussex to get those white earlobes. Please post pictures as they mature and especially when they are mature to see how they turn out. I'd like to see how they compare to the pictures the hatchery has of them.
That's what mine were labeled as also.this a few pics of mine. Started laying last week eggs are brown!!!

Has anyone weighed their Pearl Star hens to see if they actually weigh what the hatchery claims they will? I want smaller hens that lay well; the calm temperament of the Pearl Stars is appealing to me (although, I really don't dislike Leghorns). But I'm a little dubious about the claimed weights for a bird supposedly developed by crossing Sussex and Rocks!

I have a few of them they are active and very curious. Good layers half are lap chickens the others are skittish all from the same batch. I guess its a toss up. They are the smartest in my flock for sure.
