My pearl stars are 18 weeks now and I'm hoping they start to lay soon! I opened the nest boxes, put out the oyster shell, and put the fake eggs in the boxes. How are your girls doing OP? And anyone else with pearl stars?
I love my Pearl Star. She’s an egg laying rock star! Her personality is very calm and likes to do her own thing. She is very a reliable layer of light tan eggs and rarely misses a day. Size is around 2oz.
She was hit or miss at the beginning for the first few weeks. Soft shells, 2 eggs a day.
Your first egg is coming soon!! Be patient. Good luck and send us pics!

4 weeks old!
This is what our Pearl Star babies looked like too. I love these birds, although I question their heritage (Sussex & Partridge Rock). I’ll post older pictures and egg color.

The mature birds remind me more of Brown Leghorns, as far as the coloring goes, but all our eggs have been a creamy brown. (The blue egg in the picture is from our Ameraucana.)

Yes, I love mine! They just started laying at 24 weeks, sooner than my 36-wk old Wyandottes!!

Your birds are very nice. I see that you are from Allegan, MI. Does Haworth still have a manufacturing plant there? I worked for Haworth from 1992 - 2004 in one of their NC facilities and visited Allegan a couple of times.
My PS’s are the friends of our whole bunch and very inquisitive. My favorite by far!

Here is an update on my girl. She's become more red underneath and her feathering has become more defined. Her hatch date was 1/28 so I think ours are close in age. Sweet as pie and has legs like a super model. It's so interesting to see how they all have been turning out!
Wow! Her coloring is so different then ours, but really interesting! Almost blue- or silver-laced

They'll be white eggs. Any other color will be a result of the roo that mated with the hens, i.e., the 'light creamish white' that Wetmorechick described is likely a result of being bred with a brown egg laying breed roo. Believe me, I know from experience.
Here are my girls eggs. We have no roosters and so no mating going on. All their eggs have been a light creamy brown (the white eggs and blue eggs are from other birds).
