Pearl Star Leghorns

They might start laying again when the little ones do. I have a four year old chicken that hardly lays , a four year old that lays 2-3 x week but the 2 and 3 year olds lay pretty consistent. Don’t give up. Maybe they have a secret nest somewhere??

No secret nest and I have a woman coming tomorrow to take the older girls. I can only have 6 chickens where I live and I refuse to feed farm animals that won't feed me. This lady will give them a good home.

@Wetmorechick how are the pearl stars doing? My girls are 3 weeks now and I am getting concerned because they seem to have bigger combs but who knows? I looked back at your 4 week pictures and can't really compare comb sizes to my girls. Here are some pictures, hopefully they are pullets!

They look fantastic! So cute! My girls started to lay beginning of June and they fantastic layers! Nice big light cream colored eggs. If you go to Townlinehatchery.com and look up pearl stars it will talk about how they are color sexed when hatched (depending on parent stock). Yours look like mine did when that age so prolly are pullets! Hope they are all girls for ya! Have a great day!

I have a pearl star from townline that is 15 weeks and she is amazing!!! I have a few other breeds so it’s tough to compare, but she developed her comb and wattles much sooner than my other girls so don’t be too concerned. She’s a total sweetheart and quite a bit bigger than my white leghorn and Plymouth Blue Rock. Your littles are adorable!!

Great news!!! My pearl star, butterscotch, laid her first egg today! So exciting. Actually is it possible that she could lay 2? She went into the nest box twice about an hour apart. Th second one was smaller than the first but they are the first eggs from my flock! It is a good day! She will be 17 weeks tomorrow along with 4 other different breeds. I was surprised at the timing but she looks more mature than the others. Just wanted to share the news. Enjoy the day!

Congratulations My 4 Pearl Star Leghorns lay about 6 days per week (they are pullets)!!!! Man they really lay! Congrats on that first egg

I have two chickens that were sold to me as Pearl Stars. So far they are 16 weeks old and not yet laying. They look so similar to my Rhode Island Reds when they were around the same age
