Never thought of float test. I'll do a search in it properly in the morning and do that instead then

How old are your chicks? They usually aren't too interested for the first 48 hours after hatching. Make sure you wiggle your finger in the waterer to get them interested in drinking. I usually introduce the water first. Are you giving them the chick starter? You can always wet it a bit to make it more like a mash or I ground my food to a fine powder for my Bantams because they are soooo tiny when they hatch! As long as your chicks are perky and moving around cheeping, they are healthy. Hope all goes wellMorning :-D hows things? My chicks dont seem to be eating :-( i mean they are so tiny and have problems with picking up even small bits. Hope its just a matter of time and practice ... not really interested in water either...
Of course they don't count!!!! Especially if you treat them like petsYes they are just adorable
Nicole i dont think i will hatch again. If i need more girls (aiming at 6) then i think i will wait for one of these ones to go broody because that way it is easier to introduce the littlens to the flock. No ducks. Im not allowed to keep farm animals but silkies dont count do they?![]()
