My Sister lives in Wales, UK and I am technically (both parents) Welsh, and she is planning a big Walton's (..yes her last name is fitting) Christmas for all the family. I will be really mad it they cut us off. The Welsh and their Christmas is sacred, if they pull a lockdown, there will be hell to play.
Christmas is going to be pretty bleak I think. I do hope you'll get to spend time with your family in Wales! You're background sounds totally interesting... Wales, Canada, Germany.

I think those masks are going to be with us for a while still. Got to make the best out of it. It's not like that they are chains. Something to tell the grandkids about for sure!

We'll see how my chicks turn out in spring. Can't wait! Before, yes it was my chickens that I was hatching eggs from... but they were bought from another breeder. These on the other hand are my chicks... and they are going to be the parents. Feels like a whole new ballgame. This time I am planning on hatching more chicks. Thinking maybe 150 or so. I really need more chickens to choose from. We'll see... that is the plan... plans change.

Bird flu is on the rise as well. Rügen in the north has their poultry in lockdown already. I do hope that it will not reach us.

Sorry if you all can’t visit family with Xmas.

We already decided not to have a big family reunion with Xmas. Too much risk if all aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, with boyfriends and girlfriends gather. Some of the older generation are okay but do have underlying health problems and some of the younger ones are students and live a more risky life to get infected without a big health risk for themselves. So we plan to have a small gathering with our closest relatives this year.

We don’t have a lock down but a call to work from home if possible. And not to gather with more then one guest/couple/small family and only if you can keep a safe distance.
Lots of things are closed now because of this second wave. But shops are still open (where a mask, keep 1,5 m distance, wash or desinfect you're hands 🙌 ). Even hairdressers and such are open. And we can go out to walk, ride, bike as much as we want.

All the limitations together work good enough. The numbers (new infected) are going down now. So the medics expect that the crisis in the hospitals are at a peak now and its getting better within a week or 2.

First things to reopen are libraries and museums . But bars and restaurants stay closed for at least 4 more weeks and maybe for a long time. Since yesterday there are high hopes on this new vaccin. They expect to vaccinate in january-february-march.

Butchered the last 2 roosters this morning. I has decited last night that I was going to do it in the morning. Never again!! This allowed them to feed in the morning. What a mess!! But hey, you learn!! I don't know how many 'do it different next time' I got.
Big boys, 8 months old. 2729g and 2747g. Not bad!

Good morning!
The rooster pens are finally done. Well, some small things need adjusting, one short side still needs a preditor apron but the big stuff is done. The rest is just small jobs or little improvements.
Sold the last two hens into to a different breeder. Now I only have my breeder birds left and the three Bielefelder for laying.
So, what do you guys think about the pens?
