I am debating to join his breeder's academy...

Yup I was thinking about that too, but I am not far enough along yet, still have to build my breeder pen, hope the weather is better in August, because I have to build it outside. Anyway, first steps first. Find a breeding club to start...there is only one in Freiburg, and i find that shocking. Wouldn't want to keep my birds there though, too far to drive, but you really can't move forward without a membership.

No, if you want to breed properly and get your birds looked at...you need a breeding club. Without a membership you don't get numbered rings... without numbered rings you can't get your birds looked over at a show.
I don't know how far from Freiburg you are... or where exactly. You can also join a Kleintierzuchtverein. Maybe that is a better option for you. They breed anything from chickens to rabbits

When I check I see a Geflügelzuchtverein in Freiburg...no real internet page... just the address is out there.

Sometimes they have use the address of the head of the breeding club. It's not always where the club is located at.

A good option could also be... ask in the different forums if somebody had more information than what you can find. Also about the quality of the club.

You could also try contacting the Landesverband in your area.... there are two for Ba-Wü... don't know which one would be for you. They should be able to give you the information for different clubs in your area. https://www.bdrg.de/der-verband/landesverbaende
