Greetings, fellow Europeans! :frow

I joined a couple of days ago, this is my intro thread.

It has been very dry so far this year, after excessive (and damaging) rains in October and November it has barely rained at all. We really do need rain now, but in a measured and sporadic pattern.

Thankfully, it did rain lightly for some long stretches yesterday and we filled up the tanks, so I'm feeling very grateful for that. Here's to some more rain over the next few days! *crosses fingers*

Welcome Stiletto!:welcome

I get what you mean on the rain. It was very dry here in Germany too and I was very close to watering the garden in March, as crazy as it seems. But we got some fall weather for 2 weeks and tanked up. Now we could also use some showers here and there. But I still love my sunny days!

Oh Ana Ana Ana we are going to have to talk cross border egg postage :lol::lol: Pictures please!!!
I have short vids on Instagram, which I might patch together and post, but pictures will be forthcoming!
It's so exciting to have a hatch where such a variety is possible. :wee
The first has dark skin, light down. The second has small dark skin patches, light down. Then 2 hatched where the first was almost black when wet, now look blue-grayish and 2 more on the way! Oh, and there could be woolly feathering, too! Fingers crossed for a better ratio this year. :fl Last year 6 roos, 1 pullet. :he

Unfortunately, the last 2 could not make it out of the egg. And 1 of the 4 that hatched has a slipped tendon and is now in a "chick chair". I really hope we can get it to where it can live a happy chicken life. :(

Nonetheless, 3 chicks are fiesty and hopping around like maniacs. (please be pullets, please be pullets :))

give them sesame seeds. it might help with slipped tendon if given first 3 days.

Thank you for asking...

I know it is too early to be too optimistic, but today I took off the tape and let it out of it's chair (it was hating every second). It took a couple of hours, but it is now standing. I would like for it to give its leg a rest, but it makes a huge fuss and jumps out of the chair. I have not seen it lie down, either.

The light brown/yellow chick is the one with perosis.
