Peeps in Europe!

Pics
Yes how exciting! :wee:yesss::celebrate:woot
And I agree....pictures please!
I'm still awaiting approval from the other site about the Buckeyes (the forum). I told my wife last evening that I was considering getting 2-3 Buckeyes. Her reply, "1 Buckeye in the family is enough!" Then I showed her the pics of them and she's like, "yes they are cute". CUTE? They are beautiful! And then I was chatting with a friend from my younger days and he says, "you must be losing your mind in your old age...the Long family raised Buckeyes!" All I remember is that the Long family had a big farm, raised livestock and crops and 2 daughters...who were not interested in me. That was 46 years ago! :confused:
So I guess in the spring, I'm going to try and get some chicks! Not ready to try eggs yet!

:D:D:D would you like me to comment on that? Probably not!!!
They are beautiful birds... I understand why you would like to have them. I'm sure your wife will get used to the thought of having more chickens... It's still time until spring.

"1 Buckeye in the family is enough!"

That cracks me up! I asume she means you are that one "Buckeye" LOL!

Well those buckeye chickens on the other side, would be glad to be kept by a home grown Ohio boy, that can appreciates their rarity and their heritage.

Another selling point is, if you don't keep them, who will? They will probably die out and your grandchildren and great grandchildren will never know how cool they were. Created in Ohio, bred by a farmers daughter, who was the very first women to create a new chicken breed!

They are awesome chickens, and exist only because of Ohio and a lady that thought she'd breed some chickens for her State.

I rest my case...lol

Yes, so you understand my wife! I'm glad someone does! Even after 27 years, I don't!

So you read up on the history of the bird! And Ms. Metcalf is the only woman to be recognized to developed by a woman! That's something that I find interesting. I know my Grandmother hatching eggs of different breeds. But she was just into egg production, I don't think she cared which roster bred with which hen.

Only time will tell what happens.

One out and two have pipped the shell!!!... as far as I can see, but it might be more, that I just can't see. This one hatched around 6 am this morning and I missed it, it was already out and sleeping
