I wish but only just discovered the details and have been busy hosting my sister from the states and sadly am not up to an impromptu road trip. Would love a review and any contacts you may get for SLW or Buff Sussex breeders.
Pity! I would've been great to meet up with you there :) I will definitely update and see who I can meet for contacts tomorrow. I expect quite a few people to be there and lots of birds.

Yes this is correct. We had to send the whole bird to the lab, with head. So we rented CO2 balloon from the gas company. It was so easy to put him down- very peaceful, took 5 sec. and he sleeped away. So in my country, they did autopsy and sent sample (I resume it was bloodsample) to Poland. Virologist told me, that i get full official result where has been searched all 6 variants of this marek disease. But this is not the issue. If its so common disease, why breeders don't set their birds to autopsy? I resume, that they dont care!? So in my case, I dont dare to buy any birds.
@Morgank it's terrible you are unable to get a necropsy performed to confirm whether or not Marek's!
Some people on here do breed within their own flocks (from non-symptomatic birds in their flock) when they have confirmed Mareks. The reason being the chicks that survive have a resistance!! So they carry a resistance gene with them. When they grow, they then breed them and so on. I suspect it is the way forward!
@microchick explains it a Lot better than I! If you wanted to ask her about it I am sure she wouldn't mind answering your questions!

Another option is to perform your own necropsy if you loose another expected case to Mareks. If you do that and post photos in the emergency forum there are people here with a great eye for autopsies and a lot of experience who will tell you what they see. Also, if a bird passes from Mareks, they will likely have internal tumors which you would see yourself anyway.

The farce is much better enjoyed from afar, I'm sure.
Absolutely - I'm not sure which is worse - being like us living in Europe and worrying about what decisions will be made about our lives (thankfully dh is entitled to French nationality as his mum is French - we've just never bothered) or living in the UK and seeing all the scary stuff going on particularly with the economy etc. Apparently Dyson has even announced quitting the UK and moving his factory to Singapore or somewhere - and he is a huge Brexit supporter.
