@Skyle , ok so are you Italian? What kind of incubator do you have , is it Covatutto? About the chicks - I agree with the rest that you should try to give them for adoption by the broodies. You know how to do it, right? Cochins don't lay many eggs and the eggs are not very big, that's what I meant not good for eggs. Are your chicken free range?

@chickengr yes, rumors say Minorca lays large eggs, except I haven't found anyone who actually has Minorcas to confirm 😄

I have a Silky just went broody, sitting on one egg... Ghhh.

My oldest hen Ini mini, is moulting badly. She looks very poorly. And I gave her a few extra mealworms out of my hand to get through the moult more quickly. The poor thing comes running to me every time she sees me, hoping she gets a few mealworms. This evening she even flew on my shoulder, when I was outside with the bag of mealworms. Clever girl.

Thank you all for the replies! I will definitely try if they keep going. As you already said, I can always put the chicks with the others in the brooder. I already given eggs which were on day 18 to a broody, but it was with an older broody, she did awesome and kept the chicks for 5 weeks. Anyways I learned a lot on this site and I read a lot on how to give hatched chicks to broodies, too.
I have two Borotto incubators, with this hatch I'm testing for the first time one of them. I bought the first one one year ago and I like a lot how they work and the egg trays. I don't like so much the last year's humidifier (it does its work correctly though), but they improved it this year and now it's much better.
My chickens can roam freely in the whole yard, which is fenced. They have lots of bushes where to scratch the dry leaves and rest during the hot days, then there is the lawn with some trees, so they can eat the fruits that fall, too.

I have seen minorca eggs. they were at least 65 gr. they were white but not chalk white (dirty white if you know what I mean).

Here are the results of the first lot of this years breeding. I got a couple of odd balls from the mixed hen, so they are on the sell list, but most have turned out good.
