Yeah, I planned on rehoming two of them soon, then getting some Campbell females later for eggs. There's two drakes that STILL don't know how to get up the ramp to the coop, even after lots of training. Those will probably be the two that go. Lol. My boyfriend's grandpa said he'd take them, but he said he planned on just letting them free range 100% with no coop at night, and around here that's sudden death, and don't really want to see that.Three drakes to one female equals a non-stop gang bang... that duck will be in bad shape once those boys hit puberty. If they are bobbing their heads, mating season has begun. A ratio of 1:1 is bad enough... 3:1 will likely kill her as they could all pile on her in the water and drown the poor thing. The recommended ratio is 1:3 male to female and you've got the opposite! We had a mated pair and our girl was in the SVU at least once a month to recover from her sex-related injuries. You really need to get more females, separate them, or rehome somebody.
I have a friend on Facebook that might take them as well.
But yeah, looked like mating to me. Another question if you don't mind...
If mating season is beginning, will she start laying eggs soon? I heard Pekins are pretty decent egg layers. Wouldn't mind hatching a few to get some more girls...then rehoming the boys.
