Pekin Duck Club!

Yep, it will have the chicken wire. My DH actually wants to line the bottom with plywood.

on the chicken wire, I missed it the first time.

Well the Easter Bunny surprised us with 2 pekin ducks this year. I'm very new to ducklings (raised many chickens though). I was wondering if y'all had any tips or advise to help me a bit. I find asking others who have raised some better advise than just research. meet flower and daisy

Dose everone keep theres free range?? Could we do that were out in the bush could we set them up with a little pool and then just bring them in at night?
Our free range during the day and locked up tight at night.

Can u guys post pics of your feeders & water containers. My duckies are getting big & the ones @ TSC are for beaks it seems, not bills

O wow, never thought about the beak vs. bill approach but we use the ones from TSC.

I do free range mine BUT you have to evaluate your pred risk, everyone's areas differ... i have many birds out, the main flock is Muscovy. Then i also range the standard chickens. SO basically i have birds everywhere.

These are my first birds and I just bought 4 pekin ducklings and some mixed breed chicks and they will be free range together and go into this little shed with a small area for them to be in grass at nighT

Our ducks and chickens have free run of an approximately 400sq/ft of our yard (fenced off from the rest of our yard). They go in the coop/roost at night, and they have their very own "pond" (aka: kiddie pool).

Hello!

I'm wondering at what age do you see a size difference between male and female Pekin. I have 2 ducklings, hatched same day but one is larger than the other..could that mean male?
Thanks!
